Sclerotherapy involves injections into spider veins. A medication is injected which causes the lining of the vein to become irritated. The body will then recognize the vessel as injured and absorb it into the system.
Typically one session of Sclerotherapy is needed. At times, however, a follow -up session may be needed to treat any resistant vessels. Sclerotherapy does involve injections, so some discomfort may be felt during treatment.
Sclerotherapy is safe and approved by the FDA. Due to the nature of the treatment, Sclerotherapy may cause some bleeding and bruising. We recommend wearing medical stockings several days after your treatment to condense the treated vessels. These stockings are available at our spa.
